This songs talks about how we demand so much, yet actually Jesus has already laid down his life for our lives, willing to accept our sorrow in an unfair and unequal exchange, giving us and blessing us richly. How can we ask for more?
aiy havn’t posted for a week, wonder what’s keeping me from posting as regularly as i did…
yesterday nite went to parousia’s album launch gig @ the third place…a nice little cafe-church, small but with a superb loud sound system that deaf-ed my right ear…lol. start at 8pm and there were 3 other guest bands performing…aiyo waste my time sia, cos parousia only came at 10pm. I should have just came later and not rushed here so fast! cos the 3 bands were really er cmi though I must admit they are good to a certain extent but they don’t suite my taste…2 of them are very heavy-metal punk rock kind, at least skive was more decent.
i went there alone cos no one I knew wanted to go. but i met some vj people there, like SC pres alvin lim, jasmine, david, both from SC, and vincent. had a little chat with david and the rest on the ride home. at least I had some company =p
parousia was good, though they seemed to perform less than the other bands. whenn they sang their album title song, which they also sang an acoustic version at musicfest, I didn’t know “exchange” was so rock! hah. it was very cool, lloyd has a great voice and jeff plays and sings very very well. it ended slightly before 11pm. there was some autograph session. I bought their CD and let them sign…hee.
today had auditions for YM’s youth glamour nite…hmm sang “till I see you” and “love song for a saviour” with louis haha then steph said to do the latter one only. did a band with jere and the rest. hmm…later jon and biondi also wanted to join us with love song.
which i fall asleep while doing tutorials
which was unproductive as I did very little work
only managed to do maths assignment
trying to do a tutorial…doh i’m still doing a qn that the teacher has already finished going thru >
after 3 unsuccessful buyers, of which 2 suddenly backed out without allowing me to contact them and wasted my time, and the 3rd one decided to lower his price last minute when I reached the place, i found a potential buyer for my pentax.
but i’m amused at myself! instead of asking him to take bus 854 from yishun to hougang, i somehow typed wrongly and asked him to take bus 852. he ended up smsing me at the time and telling me he’s at bukit timah. i was shocked! I immediately realised my mistake and called him and asked him to cross the road and take 2 buses back (it’s faster). I apologised but he seem very nice.
Later, 1 hour after the original meeting time, met him and made the deal. he happily accepted it without checking what’s in the box, trusting that I have put everything inside (this is quite unusual…first time see such a buyer), and paid me. and he wasn’t at all angry, just said that I made him on wild goose chase =p thank God for such a nice person whom I finally can sell my pentax to…
well the pentax was really an impulse buy, too cheap to resist >
“yo kelvin. this is ravi. ur cam was worth the running about. it is very good. thk u”
A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?” Hands started going up. He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this. He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.
He then asked, “Who still wants it?” Still the hands were up in the air. Well, he replied, “What if I do this?” And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. “Now, who still wants it?”
Still the hands went into the air. My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson.
No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.
The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE. You are special – Don’t EVER forget it. Count your blessings, not your problems.
today after YM cell, i went to public by the park, an event organised by aljunied GRC, at maple wood park (lorong ah soo), in which vjc set up some funfair games booths. i wonder why/how is vjc related to this GRC since we are so far away in marine parade…
anyway there’s a big tent with people picnicing…got a ticket for free goodie bag from uncle heng as they gave some to church…but was too carried away filming and shooting that i didn’t bother to collect the “picnic basket”.
so i saw the icomp/robotics booth at the end of the row…mini bowl (xiao wan?), bowling with bottles filled with sand and a softball. haha people end up throwing instead of rolling. haha.
later on was the first mass dance, whiney and friendship. i must say atiqah and alvin dance very well, esp the mash potato! haha very energetic and good, the scs were. many people danced on the grass near the funfair booths too, along with the SCs on stage.
at abt 7pm+, PM Lee arrived. SC danced two more songs – neutron and I want you. I think the crowd was quite amazed at our dances, though simple to us, might seem impressive to them. PM walked passed our funfair booths, visited two games stalls, and dropped some money into the buskers’ booth in which the RGS girls who participated in musicfest were dancing. he smiled, waved and went off. i had a hard time filming him, chasing him, cos the crowd was surrounding him like never see him before, asking him to sign autographs, shaking hands, letting him carry children etc. aiyo. i had to walk around the muddy grass around the crowd and try go get a good shot of him. throughout the evening, I was multitasking too, videocamera in one had, and still camera in another, putting my little still camera on top of the huge vid cam to take still pix. haha.
after that, went with zhanhui to eat dinner with mr chew h e since he wanted to check out the eating places around the area. mr chew is zhan’s CT. zhan decided to go to the teochew stall near GTC, a place where I go too often. had a nice chat with mr chew, and a nice dinner =) after that, even though it was nearing 9, I had an urge to go back to the park. lol. took the same bus again for the 3rd time, went there, they were packing up. took some group pix/vid, of icomp and some other groups, thought there were some mass dance/cheer but there weren’t any. soon the CT council bus left, and a few of the CTs and us did a cheer or two, and we dispersed.
what a day!
yesterday was musicfest 2005!
i finished sch at 2pm. i can’t believe that i spent so much time from 2pm-5pm thinking about the camera arrangement, checking the cams and the tapes, checking out the PT, checking out the camera in the PA control room, testing out if can capture to laptop directly etc. wah i thought i had a lot of time to waste. thought…i can’t imagine how I actually spent so many hours doing it…thought I had better things to do…
anyway at about 6pm the rush began to set up the 5 cameras in the PT…3 stationary, 1 mobile, and 1 in the PA control room to capture the CCTV. and then some of us have to eat dinner bought by muzz. haha it’s so fun to walk in out freely identified as video crew by our newly printed tags which I did on wed.
and soon it was 7pm n everything started. well went on well except that the laptop using stupid FAT32 had 4GB limit…later intermission I managed to convert the other hard disk to NTFS in order to capture fully the 2nd half. at first was quite worried about the camera control and footage and tapes unaccounted for. but later everything was alright…was sitting on the right side most of the time with joel, yh, yt n hoosy.
matt said he managed to come in through the right PT door, no security lol. but ya he got ticket la so actually it’s alright for him. haha actually i think they welcome crashers…but SC rejected people in school U at first cos they thought it was too formal. but too many people in sch U (aiya normal school day mah) so they have to let all in.
the performances were not bad. some were funny. some I missed due to busy touching the laptop and camera. sometimes I think i’m not enjoying the concert enough. but nevertheless, it was good. then the guest performance was a 3-person band called Parousia (pronounced as per-ru-sia), which sang 2 songs. they have a super good vocalist, beat all the rest of the performances! haha…at first I did’nt know it was THEM, and then the lyrics and voice rang a bell in my mind, that I borrowed their CD before last time. they are a great local christian band and they sang two new songs which I think impressed many people in the PT.
and then was prize giving…i must say cho is a very good emcee…he was running around stage during one of the band’s performance lol, wonder if it was planned beforehand. though the prize giving a bit messy, in the end ended off with Victorian Anthem…hah sometimes I wonder what if the winner of the solo vocalist can’t sing the anthem…ahem..
i feel cheated
yesterday, wanted to sell something, advertised on HWZ, person contacted me, agreed to meet at somewhere at a certain time, he didn’t turn up, called him many times, waited for 45 minutes, no one answered the call…

today was a wonderful day…a day which i seemed to have missed out during the march holidays….a day which i could stay at home and laze around and do work at my own pace…a day which i’m finally feeling ‘free’ after soo long…
but what happens when you want to watch a movie but there isn’t anything nice to watch recently? you’d go around watching many trailers and reading many reviews to a point that you can’t decide what to watch, cos there’s nothing really nice to watch, and then you end up wasting time deciding something to watch, and in the end deciding not watching anything at all?

anyway takgiu was featured in The New Paper on saturday’s issue…pretty cool and large…was quite surprised too cos my brother decided not to inform us beforehand…heh.
