Finally, after 6 plus years in GTC, I was baptised on 23 November 2008.

It was a long day in church, with Teenedge, Jordanites (which we watched Left Behind) and then the Baptism service. Elisha proposed to take a group picture of Jordanites (albeit suddenly) after everything, and used my camera, and wanted to borrow my camera cos he “needed the photos right now”. I was thinking, isn’t it more convenient for me just to send him the photos? Haha he was trying to lie to me, although very badly. In the end, he had to tell me the truth – that they wanted to print out the photos for Lisa and me on a card as baptism gifts. Oops :S

Went to change immediately and then came down just in time, and my 2 aunts and 3 cousins arrived. It then began to pour very heavily, and it was hard to listen to the testimonies in the rain. My dad arrived shortly after, which I was quite happy that he came in the end even though he could not decide earlier as he was working. It was getting a bit draggy to listen to all 12 testimonies though, especially with the distracting raindrops. I shared my short testimony too.

Finally, it was time to get baptised. I was the 12th person, and the water is cold! The “baptisers” were SP L Lee and Elder Peter, and Ps Whit prayed for me. Apparently, according to him, he did not plan his prayer after reading my testimony, and he also quoted Philippians 3:13-14 coincidentally. Certainly God is speaking to me.

Coming out wet and cold, I took photos with my relatives and my dad, and shook hands with many people. Hahas.

I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 3:13-14
