This is my creative machine – the Jackpot Idea Generator. There are two ways of using it:
- Input 3 different words or objects and the machine will randomly extract images from the Internet and generate an object on screen or on a 3D hologram
- Alternatively, use the jackpot handle to randomly generate 3 input to create a new idea/object
By generating new ideas from 3 original ideas, new inspirations and innovations can come forth.
Not bad. but a bit too contrived for having exacting subject matter types. But its does explain that external stimulus is needed to support your work to create. Yes, very often we need external imagery and other resources to mold our ideas but think about the part on “internal processes” that is not shown?
Jackpot as a metaphor seems to suggest that there is a always a correct outcome in design . Are you suggesting from your sketch there one or is creativity merely only a satisficing act that grows out of your considerations of all possible design outcomes?
Hi, actually I realised that my machine is more of an idea generator. I was not really thinking about internal processes when creating this ‘machine’.
I guess creativity is more than just outcomes. It is the randomness of creating new ideas.
