During consultation, Ms Jing suggested that I choose a more futuristic font instead of a traditional typewriter kind of font. So here’s the final version of the poster, and I decided to change the headline colour to orange/yellow as I think it is more pleasing to the eyes than green.

With the feedback from the class, I created a second version of the poster. I decided to use green as the colour as it is more associated with “digital” than yellow. I used some distortion/perspective to make the textbooks seem as if they are “downloaded” unto the screen, and now I included a mock screenshot to make the device more obvious. Also, some pixelating effect is added to the textbooks to make them look “digital”. I also decided to reduce the number of words in the copy write-up and make the font sizes bigger. The title font type has also been changed to a more typewriter-like look to fit the overall digital look of the poster.

Here’s the poster which I came up with:

While designing it, I realised that my 5 megapix camera is not good enough for an A3 size print. And the picture of the laptop screen turned out noisy. So I’ve to use some Photoshop filters to ‘save’ it. Hmm.

Based on the “No More Textbooks” idea, I dug out some very old O Level textbooks and took some photos with my laptop. My laptop screen is kind of reflective so I decided to omit capturing whatever is on the screen itself.

			I thought of two copies/write-ups:
iN2015: Your home at your fingertips.
Imagine a world where your home is accessible by the touch of your finger. Just a flick on your phone or computer, and your air-conditioning will be switched on instantly, cooling down your room even if you are miles away from home. Forgot to switch off your lights after leaving your house? Not a problem. Need to heat up something in the microwave? Need to record a television programme? Just a click away.
iN2015: No more textbooks
Imagine a world where going to school does not mean carrying a heavy bag of textbooks. Chinese and Social Studies class next? Not a problem. Need to check some ten-year-series questions? It’s all in there. Dictionary? Check. Internet? Definitely. And a video chat with your teacher is just a click away.
And here are some thumbnail sketches, 1st one based on the 1st copy, while the other two are based on the 2nd copy.
